color week: yellow and orange (or: join me for lunch?)

i imagine that you have joined me for lunch today...

this is what we are having:

lunch july 5

cherries

strawberry creme

(so since there are no rules with color week, i am kind of blending the first four days of colors with my lunch today)

a little quest:
jon has been drinking italian sodas for years, but i tend to always get coffee when we go to cafes (iced mochas in the summer). but, when we were in oregon, i tried this raspberry italian soda with cream. oh my goodness. the flavor took me right back to when i was a kid and we would go to marco island, fl (before my little brother was born) and we would walk down the beach, me and my mom and my dad, and then walk on to this frozen yogurt place. now, this was back when we didn't have frozen yogurt chains and it was pretty new. i loved that frozen yogurt. i think i also loved the time spent with my parents there, out in the sun just the three of us (and then my brother later). over the years, i have always searched for a similar flavor, but never have found it. until now.

i am on a small but important quest to try italian sodas and other cream drinks at some of my favorite cafes this summer.

today, i found that the strawberry blended creme drink at starbucks is pretty darn close to that flavor from my past.

what is new with you? have you been undertaking any quests of your own lately?

I hadn't been on a quest, but I may be on one now. Is that a little cheese round with a pull to tear off the rind? I haven't had one of those in a long time. Gotta get some soon.

Lunch looks delicious.

No new quests, just the same old ones. I'd love to try the Italian soda; sounds yummy :)

Love the textures!

My quest: to survive the next month-and-a-half of chaos, includes three trips, teaching a class, taking a class, and my own wedding. :)

My main quest will be to continue to knock out unfinished knitting projects. On more personal levels...to take more pictures, learn more about my tarot cards and read, read, read.

Oh, yeah....adhere to a yarn diet, too! (shouldn't that be first??)

My most recent quest is to love and honor myself. I was not taught to do this growing up, and now, at 40, find that I am yearning & needing to learn to do it. The importance of such a quest cannot be understated.

I am taking each and every opportunity, although sometimes a challenge to put into practice, to focus on what is nourishing to me/my spirit and do it. This could be walking in nature, eating nutritous foods, enjoying time just hanging around the house with my hubby and cats, standing quiet and still while watching a deer in the woods, taking pictures of the squirrels in my backyard, having my own little pity party, escaping to a nearby hippie village, or buying fun, funky new shoes!

Learning to love and honor oneself is indeed a lifelong quest. The best thing we can do for others is to take good care of ourselves.

Wishing I could sit and sip yummy strawberry goodness with you today :-p

Peace,
Lisa

What crisp fabulous photos!

I am venturing into sticking with one thing even though I hear plenty of whispers trying to distract me off my path.

It is fun.

Summer seems to be a great time for adventure.

Glad you found something similar to that old time favorite.

MMMMM, I miss sweet pleasures like red polka dot bowls. I do not have these in the Peace Corps. ;-( I like the blend of Charlie Brown is a nice pop culture, twist, too. . .
