today.
beach at fort worden, port townsend, washington . february 20, 2010
we must get outside. we must leave the place we know to discover. we must recognize the blue sky as an invitation. yes. we must rediscover who we are as we breathe in, breathe out and soak up all that stands before us. we must push ourselves to leave behind the chatter and find the sounds that await us.
this is your invitation.
get outside.
now.

i just spent the most gorgeous day at cannon beach, so this rings oh so true.
i'll need to reread this though, on the days i forget how much i need to just go outside.
What a beautiful post and quote Liz. Thank you.
you are right. i do need to go outside and soak in nature.
Oh, such a great beach at the fort! (I find myself thinking that I should have jumped into artfest this year.) My son and I took a long walk in the Spokane sunshine yesterday. Glorious, glorious spring is here.
Lying on my stomach in the sand, this would be how the world looked. So how come we don't look from these angles more often? How come we are always looking down, like we are bigger, or up, like we are smaller? Never as we belong...
Love the quote...
