authentic living

New somerset life at barnes and noble

a peek at my new article

"In This Moment: Healing One Patch at a Time" is my new article in the Autumn issue of Somerset Life. It is the first of three articles I am writing for their Authentic Living column. So honored to be sharing stories about being "in this moment" in the midst of it all.

In this article, I share the story of how making a quilt earlier this year helped me to begin to come out of survival mode and lean back into living and getting out into the world.

Oh how I love this quilt.

You can find Somerset Life at Barnes and Noble and other bookstores, and you can order a copy here.

That quilt is gorgeous! I can't wait to check the article out.

I wanted to thank you not only for my beautiful necklace set (which I am wearing right now ... the message being one I really need to recall over and over and over) but for a gift you gave me last night in the bath. Sounds steamy, doesn't it? All innocent - I just had been having a couple of funky funk days and I couldn't seem to right myself. Black clouds seemed to have stalled and finally I realized i needed pampering big time so I was about to hop into a hot bath when I knew I needed to dip into a book for extra nourishment and comfort. And there your book was on my nightstand. It was like a candle flame in a dark room ... and I didn't feel so alone. The warm water and your words/ideas thawed me out and today I jumped out of bed, excited for the adventure of this day!

much love

Lis

Oh dear heart that is such wonderful news! I can't wait to read it! I find it fascinating that handwork can be such a wonderful addition to one's personal healing journey. For you it was making a quilt and for me it has been knitting. Bless you.
