circling, shifting, begging
seeking heat
yearning to be touched and twirled and taken
my face tips up
the sun warms my eyelids

hola beautiful liz ~
i remember when persimmons took your breath away... it is such a divine poem. my current favourite is:
"The minute I heard my first love story
I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was.
Lovers don't finally meet somewhere.
They're in each other all along."
~ Rumi
wishing you a precious, dearhearted day sweet soul ~~~

P.S Love the dip!
Your poem is simply wonderful! I have many great poets I read. A few are family members. I guess that's where my gift and love of the art comes from.
Have A Blessed Day!
Beautiful, everything, just beautiful... and the Persimmons... the hair went up on the back of my neck, I went and read it right away... so poets walking into my world... hmmm I have been back reading an old "friend", Jane Hirshfield. Given Sugar, Given Salt and The Lives of the Heart, 2 of my all time favourite collections...
Oh! Persimmons -- thank you so much for that link!
Poets: always loved Whitman and cummings (can't believe I gave away his complete poems, years ago -- will have to get another copy). Mary Oliver. Rumi. I sometimes think of Emerson as a poet, believe it or not. I shyly, occasionally, still write poetry, if only to see my own feelings on paper.
OMG, Liz, I am so glad that you directed me to "persimmons".
What an amazing poem, took my breath away, too.
I have an older friend who has macular degeneration, and did sumi painting long after she could no longer see. They were amazing.
hugs,
gwennie
