me and my golden child {self-portrait challenge}
Working from home can be a bit lonely at times, but the Mill-dog is always here to keep me company. Her personality took some getting used to but now I can't imagine life without her sweet face.
She is my dear golden child Millie...and she is sick again. We rescued her a little over a year and a half ago, soon after we lost Traveler, and in this year and a half, she has been to the vet more times than Trav was in all the fours years I had him (not counting the last few months of his life when he had cancer).
This time...well...I don't want to embarrass her and have her give me a look like this:
So I will just share that she has an irritation. And when dog's have irritations they tend to lick them, and our vet decided that licking was not the way to go with this irritation. So when we are not around, she gets to wear this special head gear. I keep trying to tell her that it is fashionable, but I think it is safe to say she is pretty annoyed by the whole thing. I would be too.
Millie...my golden child...my friend...my daily companion...

Millie is beautiful!
And so is liz!
Ooohh...an irritation...hope it disappears soon and she can rid herself of the head funnel!
Hope Millie is feeling better soon.
LOVE the head scarf!:)
Aw, what a sweetie. I really hope that she's feeling better soon. She sounds like a special soul.
millie is a beautiful golden child. but i feel sorry for her that she has to wear the cone! bummer. i hope her "irritation" clears up soon! at least she has a mama who loves her--cone or not. :P
She is too cute! I hope she is feeling better soon. You two are very cute together!
Millie is beautiful, even with the headgear. I love goldens - they're big ol' love sponges, soaking it up and pouring it back out.
The photo of the two of you together is lovely!
Hey Millie? Can I borrow your "Doggie Kryptonite Collar" when you are done with it? LOL
it is totally fashionable! ;)
Lizzy...if this isn't the cutest picture ever. i love you in pink and i love you in head wraps.
and i want you to know that you are amazing and beautiful and refreshing.
if you don't have it already, download the song "Amazing" by Josh Kelley. that's for you...
love you,
boho
Poor Mills! But I do love this photo, more so because we laughed about it on Saturday knowing it would make for a great shot. I love your hair wrap girly!!
Ohhh, Millie looks just like my golden from years ago. God, I loved that dog. Poor Shiloh had to wear a collar a couple times too. But the problem with it was that when she had it on she couldn't get her nose to the ground to sniff, and if she couldn't sniff she couldn't pee. We had quite a dance with that. I hope Millie is better soon.
Oh Liz, your poor baby. I used to be a vet assistant and hated having to put those "halos" on the poor things. But your vet is right! It will heal much quicker. I am glad she keeps you company, I work at home too,(accounting) and it does get lonely sometimes.
i know just what you mean, as i am in love with my little ones, too...millie is beautiful, and i hope she feels better soon!
she looks like she's good to cuddle with...and like she gives good kisses...
Oh, Millie is such a beauty - with or without her headgear! Trixie is horrified to think we might force a dog to wear anything like that. She's been lucky enough to avoid ever needing one. She says Millie's welcome to come hang out with her at http://trixiesdays.blogspot.com/
She looks like a great companion. Hope she's feeling better soon.
Tell Millie that special head gear is "the new black!"
sweet!
That is such a precious pic of you and your baby dog.
Hugs and kisses to you
A lovely portrait Liz!
awwww...i always feel so bad for doggies when they have to wear this "accessory". i remember when my dog had to wear one and he kept trying to bury his head when there was a loud noise - it must have been like a megaphone in there, catching all the sounds. hope millie is back to her old self soon :)
awwww...
poor millie...
good thing she has such a
compassionate owner though
:)
too cute for words....what's she saying to you? go on tell me...!!!!
you seem to have some unspoken language between the two of you!!
