inspire me thursday. a sense-less maze.

a sense-less creation.

close my eyes and choose random paper. keep the eyes closed and tear the paper. open my eyes. i do not love the colors i have chosen. but then i turn the papers over. interesting.

there is no sound. no music. the dog sleeps at my feet. if i really try to hear something, the clock ticks. i quickly glue the papers to the page. a bit of a puzzle. i take a break. i am hungry and need to taste and smell.

come back and spend a few minutes thinking about moments when we might really lose our usual sense of senses and have to rely on our senses in a new way. a maze. use the white oil pastel because i have a hard time seeing it myself.

there are many ways to get to the center of this maze. and many ways to get lost. i am not even sure if you can get to the center. you might just have to turn around and find another path all together. kind of like life...

see other inspire me thursday creations here. enjoy!

You know what..I never even considered going into the Center of this maze...though it is a maze...it reminds me of my mini office zen garden (that people play with & mess up when they see - grrrr). The colors kind of threw me but the visual of the maze made me feel warm...like the feeling I get as I approach any labrinyth. I like the "Sense-Less" title...very cool and visual.

Some of my best moments come when I simply close my eyes...and do anything. To remind myself of my other senses...it can quite extraordinary to realize how sight is the foundation for my assumptions and judgments. Lovely piece.

I love this piece, especially the colors. Right now I'm so into these colors, esp. the oranges. Isn't it funny that work we often don't like is something that others do?
I can't get into this theme and haven't contributed although I love seeing everyone's work!

i'm loving your take on this...
i don't know why
when inspire me thursday
involved using or not using
your senses...
i kind of shut down...
i should be investigating that further
perhaps
:)

but i am loving what you did!

I so appreciate your gift with words. How you wrote about this experience and the last Inspire Me Thursday piece really made me feel like I was stepping through the moments with you.

And a maze, what a great image for this exercise. Oh, and suddenly I'm seeing that as "amaze." And it's true; I'm always amazed by the work that you do :)

Beautiful thought on a maze that is a take on something that I would have never imagined. I love it!

The maze is beautiful...I so admire your use of color!

I love the maze metaphor...you never know what you might find, what is around the corner. Yeah for you for letting go and allowing your creation to lead you.

This ios very dynamic. It's interesting that you randomly chose red and green...creating that strking contrast of colors. The white maze on top pulls it all together, and your explanation adds that extra deimension. Funny note - I have the same papers! I bought a bag of paper by the pound...lots of cool stuff.
