There are so many things I want to tell you but I went from re-entry after the Feast Retreat (more on that luscious retreat this week) to a visit from my mom (we are putting up art + photos everywhere and brainstorming some business things and tomorrow she's making my favorite marinara sauce to go in the freezer) and my writing brain is not quite ready for this space, so today, I really just want to tell you that I love my new haircut. Like major.
And the number one piece of advice I have is to create a haircut board on Pinterest and then show it to your stylist every single time. (This is the cut we aimed for this time and I'm hoping to add the longer front pieces from this one this summer.)
Tell me something about your corner of the world. How are things over there?
PS Jen, Kelly, and I are totally working on the final details of the Fall Retreat. Registration will be next week. Stay tuned!

Hmm..well my son gave me an iphone for an early mother's day gift. YAY! My previous phone is 6 years old and was no longer holding the charge. I am excited about the camera in it, more than anything. (Funny, I know.) The thing that's weirding me out about it is the idea that it's going to feel like talking on a calculator.
Hmmm.... I'm feeling "called"/led to host a photography retreat for women sometime in the fall (working on the details now). I do need a haircut, too, but will wait until I come home from a retreat this weekend--Scrap Camp at Lutheridge in the mountains of North Carolina. I am also celebrating my younger son's 20th birthday. I no longer have teenagers. I'm not sure how that makes me feel. I know I am entering a new phase of motherhood and empty nesting. I'm starting Christine Valter Paintner's "Eyes of the Heart" contemplative photography class next week and reading her new book, "Eyes of the Heart: Photography as a Christian Contemplative Practice" in preparation. And I'm feeling the need to make some connections with others.
I LOVE the new cut. For reals.
Over here, the mister has been walking for a little over a week now, and it's taken me lots of rest and trips to the curb with recyclables to find my rhythm again. Whew.
i also love the new "do"
saturday i participated in an all day workshop at the open center in nyc w/tami simon, called meditating w/the body. awesome!
I like all the comments and the fact that there are so many stages of a woman's life represented here.
It sounds like you had a great time with your mom, Liz and I love the haircut!
In my upside down world, I am a grandmother ( sounds so old) living with her daughter and helping with the care of her toddler and teen, who doesn't require much care :). Today my excitement consisted of raking the yard. Thanks for asking.
Oh a good haircut is one of the best things ever, isn't it? I love it. I'm getting mine cut and colored this weekend and I CAN'T wait. At 34 I didn't expect to have so many greys...not sure I'm ready to embrace them. :) I just received your book today and I'm so excited to dig in. Happy Tuesday!
I love your haircut, too! in this corner I am working on intentonally slowing down on some stuff, and picking up speed on others. Oh, and embracing a new obsession with lists of all sorts. Ones I make, ones I read, see, etc.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the way I chosen to celebrate my birthday week. My actual birthday isn't until Friday but each day I've done a little something for myself all culminating with presents and a whole day enjoying myself at the end. I feel like a Goddess!
