gather the kindling

retreat altar . midwest inner excavation retreat, may 2011

Close your eyes
Gather all the kindling
About your heart
To create one spark.
That is all you need
To nourish the flame
That will cleanse the dark
Of its weight of festered fear.

I've got a couple of his books - I need to pull them out again.

And I'm lighting a candle now.

...oh my god. I stumbled across this post while looking for something else and...I am destroyed. Demolished. And remade.

That sounds horrendously overwrought but I think it's probably actually true.
