"tell your story," i whisper to myself as i take each step forward. then i hear these words:

but, don't get so caught up in telling your story that you don't stop and listen to the whispered stories of all who came before you. the knowledge there is deep and wide and true. even when you don't agree, much can be learned from those whispers of truth. we must listen...

it is important to hear the stories of others (and some whispers are very soft indeed!) and YES we must add our own voices to that chorus...knowing that there are times to stand forward and allow your voice to go solo, but so many others when we are only part of many voices, and if we sing together we not only hear ourselves, but the others as well.
