five (really) good things. just for me.
1) squeezing the juice of two blood oranges, one grapefruit, and two navel oranges, pouring the juice into a glass, and drinking the beautiful pink concoction for breakfast.
2) taking a break from work to crochet another row of the blanket.
3) calling my grandpa just to say "hi."
4) giving myself the present of a membership to the freespirit fat quarter club. (because, really, can one have too much fabric?)
5) sitting in the quiet. remembering the importance of love for one's self. and inhaling and exhaling compassion.
what are your five (really) good things?
think about it.
and then name them.
right now.
i dare you.

...in a few minutes, I will lay my head down for a much needed nap
...the look on my sister's face when Baby Boy and I brought her flowers at work today
...my father is on his way to see me

...did I mention I am about to take a nap?
I needed this this morning...a reminder to pause and be consciously grateful in the midst of chaos. Your posts are regularly serendipitous for me. :)
Five. I can totally think of that few. ;)
1) Sleepy heads, grumpy when being awakened for the bus quickly turning to eyes-closed smiles and excitement when I whispered "Happy Valentine's Day".
2) Those same sleepy heads walking in the pre-dawn fog down the dirt lane, bundled up like eskimos, carrying plants for teachers as if they were precious cargo....happy excited conversation from them drifting up the hill, through the branches and landing quietly on my ears.
3) Doggie following me around as I prepare to leave for the weekend to teach - excited that I will be travelling with a dear friend who always makes me laugh.
Crud...only two more. :)
4) Knowing I will spend the weekend among dear artists and friends who breath noting but encouragement and kindness to all those whom they encounter - sincere, honest, humurous, bold women.
5) Learning my abilities...the daily challenge of going to bed knowing I did just fine today. That...THAT....what a gift I'm learning to give myself.
Thank you for this dare. :)
one good thing for sure will
be meeting you soon:)
