an update, a deep breath, and heading to bed early
betty's style on day 2
we had a really wonderful weekend at urban craft uprising. this was such an incredible event. loved it. loved the people there, the delightful customers, the shopping...i hope to do it again next year. seriously, the folks who put on this show rocked.
and jon was a huge help...even staying up with me on friday night to get all the last minute things done, helping me all day saturday, cutting out more felt circles because the garlands sold out and i needed to make more, and helping me all day sunday. what a sweetheart that man of mine is.
the exhaustion set in late sunday night and i have yet to recover. a chest cold of some sort has decided to settle in for a visit. i am drinking lots of tea and wearing scarves and several blankets as i try to catch up on editing. i am also wishing i could find a tea for colds that doesn't taste like anise (ideas anyone?).
the bundled up with hot cocoa and the new yorker scarf, available here
betty and i had a photoshoot yesterday morning, and i have updated the shop with a few things, including patchwork aprons, scarves, new blossoms made out of ties that used to live in my dad's closet, and a few lots of dots garland. if you need something in time for christmas, note that i will be shipping items until december 19th. (i will also be adding a few more items here and there this week as i continue to process the photos.)
lots of dots garland, available here
but now it is time for bed...
i will share my december views and sounds of the season soon...
hoping things are beautiful in your world today...

Hi Liz, I hope you are feeling better.
I just wanted to let you know that my necklace arrived today...and I just love it.
Thank you so much...and sending you some healthy, healing vibes today...(and just noticing that we both have Jons with no 'h'...:)
xo
oh my gosh yes ~ the garlic lemonade is awesome but it is not for you i think, i seem to recall that you can't do garlic ... hmmmm, i am also a big fan of any tea that uses a whole lot of lemon and raspberry natural honey to coat the throat ... duke has also been sick and i made a big batch of homemade chicken noodle soup which i also find helps .. and chocolate, lots of chocolate ;-)
your creations are so lovely and i am so happy to hear you had such a fabulous time :) sending you lovely healing thoughts honey, snuggle ... xo
Ginger Lemonade:
Grate Fresh ginger into cup & steep for 2 mins. Strain, add tblsp. honey and sprinkle of cayenne pepper (opens up clogged passages) Squeeze in 2 tlbsp. or so fresh lemon juice (or bottled in a pinch)
I keep fresh ginger in the freezer for just this recipe... grates very easily when frozen. My kids & husband beg for this when sick. Feel better! Love your work!
Glad to hear things went so well! I hope you are resting and drinking lots of tea. (((hugs)))
Hope you feel well soon. I like this tea from Harney & Sons: http://www.harney.com/bangkokblend.html. It's called Bangkok, and is a green tea blended with lemongrass, coconut, and ginger.
betty needs to meet my katie:)
i think they would have so much
fun trying on all your
g o r g e o u s
creations:)
lizzie ~ i make a ginger tea
with fresh grated ginger and
honey and a squirt of lemon...
and then i have a very very hot
epson salt bath with a few
drops of eucalyptus oil in it
and then i go to bed with a
cozy movie:)
love you!
muah!!! get better!
I am enjoying your dec views.
Wish I could have been at your lovely craft show. It's too bad that South Carolina is so far from Washington. The "Seek Peace" pendant arrived a couple of weeks ago and is beautiful. My friend will be so pleased with it when I give it her for Christmas. Hope you are feeling better. My John was sick with a bad cold last week and my chicken noodle soup and hot tea "Christmas tea" really helped.
Before I go.....know that I think all of your creations are awesome! They rock and so do you.
Love and peace from the Lowcountry, Marie C
