did you wear your apron today?
i recently discovered a delightful new blog called apronista. there i learned that today is national wear your apron day! i sported one from my growing collection throughout the day. jon snapped this photo as i ironed some interfacing into a couple more selma totes tonight.
apronista is all about wearing aprons as fashion, which i totally support. i keep having all these ideas for ones to make...anything to wear all this gorgeous fabric i keep finding (and...ahem...buying).
and yes, i am totally serious about the tea towel swap. more details to come!
jon's grandmother continues to hang in there. it is hard to know how things are going, as i guess today was a tough day. but she is fighting and that is a good thing. she is having side effects from the blood thinner she is on and that is complicating things. i think jon's mom is "cautiously optimistic" as they say...thank you for keeping Gram in your thoughts.
we had the most gorgeous weather today. tomorrow it is supposed to be in the high 70s. i am looking forward to another day with all the windows open...
(on a sidenote: i think it is completely wacky that i post pictures of myself sans make-up and just think that is normal)

What a cute pic of you! Your apron is so sweet! And I love those selma totes of yours...hoping to scrape together some money so I can snatch one up when you get your shop up and running.
It was so great chatting with you that first night of Artfest. I've been meaning to stop by here and say hi, but my post-Artfest funk seemed like it was never gonna end...then I got swept away by a huge wave of creativity and here we are almost a month and a half later. Wow how time files!
Are you going to have a website with a shop or are you going the Etsy route? Or did you already mention that here and I spaced out and didn't see it? LOL! I decided to open up a new Etsy shop for my paintings last week and I'm slowly getting them listed. I'll be keeping my eyes peeling for your shop grand opening announcement. ;)
I love aprons, especially vintage ones!! I've got a couple of great vintage apron patterns from the 40's that someday, when I set up my studio space, I will make. I've got a great vintage apron that's a street scene from Paris - I wonder where it is? I like wearing it to work over jeans, it's a great place to store spare needles.
oh, i missed it :(
there's a shop i spied in madison that has the most amazing aprons in it. now i'm not normally an apron wearer, but these beauties are multi-layers with really bright spring colours and i might just have to buy one for the joy of being able to look at it and celebrate it's colours.
i would never have noticed you were sans-makeup if you hadn't mentioned it (i never wear it myself).
Thank you so much for mentioning our little blog! You look adorable in your apron, and we will be adding you to our apron lover's list!

I think you look BEAU-tiful!!! And what a cool idea to wear an apron as fashion! I have a TON of vintage aprons that I love but I'm not sure if I would want to wear them out or not. I do love vintage aprons though.
Glad to hear an update on Gram. She is still in my thoughts.
Excited about the tea towel swap! Wahoo! :)
Wow- I missed a lot since I last checked in! I am glad also that Gram is doig a little better- boy, 91! God bless her!
And, oh, setting the house on fire- that would be me... I started one in the oven and just screamed my way through it all while my husband calmly doused it. I am not good in stressful situations...
and- you are such a cutie pie in your apron! I didn't grow up with aprons- I don't think I ever saw my mom wear one! She is also proud to tell you that she never wore a house coat in her whole life! You know those things... you can still find them at Wal-Mart! Another reason I don't shop there!
Looking forward to your shop and wishing you a wonderful day today, dear one!
xo
Makeup or no makeup, you are still adorable...as is this picture.
I have to giggle about your comment regarding the cute fabric you keep buying; I am a bit like that with beads...oh goodness. :-)
So glad to hear that Jon's grandmother is holding her own. I will continue to send prayers.
xoxo
your apron is so cute and your are gorgeous sans makeup... and even with the ironing board backdrop hee hee!
thinking of you, jon and his gran.
here's to another bright, warm day tomorrow.
Vx
yay for jon and his gram! i'm so glad that she is fighting and hanging in there...
and you look freaking CUTE in that apron...i didn't even notice the "lack of make-up". whatever! you're still so cute.
glad to hear about grandma...
omg...such a fricken cute apron on a fricken lovely you.
xx
I love aprons! There's something so homey about them - and much easier to wash than whatever I'm wearing that shouldn't get whatever's cooking on it.
What a sweet photo! I need a copy for my bookshelf at some point, ok?
