a bug wrapped in snow
we still have snow
(and ice)
we haven't left the house since we got back from my yoga class wednesday night
(jon had two snow days)
we are reaching into the depths of the cabinets for food
(though so far that has been a good thing because we have plenty)
and we are now out of bread and eggs
(and izze sparkling apple juice)
so tomorrow
(well, today really)
we will try to drive
(skate)
to the store
(and starbucks)

we got a little more snow today, and it was just lovely! about 11 inches in total for us, i think. how peaceful the landscape is, dressed in white.
i am hungry for this tasty basil dressing drizzled over mixed greens covered with roasted walnuts and fresh strawberries served at a great little cafe nearby, so i am guessing that will be an early stop tomorrow when we venture into the postcard-beauty of our surroundings. funny how the deprivation of our routine life makes us hungry for it!
We've had NO snow and I live in the Northeast where it's supposed to! This world is having wackadoodle weather and it scares me a lot.
I hope you made it to the store and to buck, the essentials in life. I'm off to make some eggs now. xo
What K said! Here I am in Kentucky, normally bitching about the snow making me housebound about this time of year, and it's 50+ degrees here and raining. Weird!
Hope you stay warm and safe as you venture out for supplies!
I like the photo. I may not like the feeling of being stuck that snow gives me, but I love the quality of light I see when the world has a sugar-coating.
Oh, that brings back such nice memories! Glad you had plenty on hand in the pantry and be safe going out for more!
You know, when I first saw that title of your post, I thought it said "A hug wrapped in snow." It sounds like that's what you're creating for yourself.
Be safe and careful when venturing out, Liz. We've got a little ice and snow here, so I've been hibernating a bit, too.
My little bug, Paula, is safe and warm in the garage, I'm happy to say. She doesn't like the cold!
Enjoy.
Man your cute girl.
Wish I could meet you at Starbucks:)
I long for snow...no winter over here (holland) so far.
Be careful when you go out in that snowy world :)

i am missing all of that?! loving the new flickr badge, by the way. hee.
Whoe. I don't know if I should be nervous for you or be cheering you on. Being housebound because of weather is not in my realm of experience. I'm guessing you plan ahead for food and supplies. If I ever move to snowy areas, I'll have to learn the rules because I'm terrible about keeping well supplied.
Today, we slid along ice-covered streets in our stupid, light car that is sooooo ill-suited for ice just so I could go see the neighborhood goats I love. Is that wrong?
I suspect you two will look back on these snowed in days with great fondness! It sounds very cozy, romantic, and FUN! I hope you two had Parcheesi! You can't be snowed in without it. I also hope there was chocolate stashed somewhere in the cabinets!
As a poet, I very much enjoyed my walk through your blog...as an avid reader, I think I enjoyed it even more. I'll link you, if I may.
I kinda miss snow like that. It forces you to slow down. Everything gets to silent...
:)
i love brackets.

(along with the picture)

It' just been ice here, i much rahter our storm have been snow. everything looks really pretty covered in beautiful crystal clear ice, but we have alot of limbs down in our yard...poor trees :( I have a craving for Starbucks too but it looks like I am housebound today! Atleast on days like this it feels all the more cozy inside! Cheers!
ahh, I found it, you must have some of our snow...there must have been a mix up with old man weather. So very odd not to have snow here.
I hope you are snuggling up and keeping warm. Warmest wishes!!!
At least we don't have all that snow...it is just cold as hell!
