will try again tomorrow

i want to write something inspiring...

about how i want to dance for 15 minutes today to celebrate Jamie's beautiful idea.
about the wonderful breakfast i had yesterday with Marilyn, Laini, and Stephanie!
about the fantastic afternoon i spent with Kelly.
about the awareness i experienced listening to the indigo girls yesterday.
about how my heart expands a bit every time i sing at the top of my lungs in the car.
about how much i am enjoying reading May Sarton's Journal of a Solitude.
about the beautiful weather we are having.
about how inspired i feel by the bloggers i am connecting with.

but all i have to say is this...
i am watching last night's west wing episode for the second time because bravo replays it on monday nights at 8 and i am so sad this show is ending and i love alan alda and jimmy smits and the world where a open-minded, compassionate, independent-thinking man is elected into the most powerful office in our country and calls upon an equally open-minded, compassionate, independent-thinking man who happened to be his opponent to serve in an important role in his cabinet. Really. All I really want is some compassionate, open-minded, independent-thinking people to run for office. (oh and even though there is a part of me that still wants to be the first female president [as a child i had a sign hanging from my bedroom door that said "future president sleeping"], i have to admit that i would really like the job of being first lady. an independent-thinking, compassionate, open-minded first lady of course.)

and i am feeling a bit blue...just a bit...but will try to find some inspiration for tomorrow.

Well if you DON'T find some inspiration for tomorrow...OH WELL..you can just wait till you find it wheneverrrrrrrrrrrrr. Maybe you need to feel where you are. naw mean?

cheer up. one day soon you won't have to watch it all play out on television. we will have someone living on penn ave who is caring and bright, a model of integrity and innovative thinking, someone who is compassionate and passionate, someone who represents all of America, not just the rich...or corporate America

....and it might be a woman! :)

I feel the same way....lately I have been absent on my blog both because I have had no time to sit down and write....but I have had nothing inspiring to write about. I find myself spinning in circles, where I will have tons of topics I can't wait to write about...and then I hit a dry spell...

Most of the time though, writing about the everyday is just as interesting and insightful :)

And what makes you think it's not inspiring to read that? About what inspires you? (all that stuff, right?)...
... oh... and some of us live in a part of the world where we're way behind on episodes of West Wing. So the election ain't over for us just yet!

I know just what you mean Liz!! I wish for the same kind of leader you do and often get overwhelmed in the face of what we do have. I hope that we see changes with the next election.

You are always inspirational to read. You just can't help it, it's how you are!!

Isn't it just beautiful today?? That is inspiring :)

i am sorry that you are feeling blue...
but don't apologize for it...
i want to know more sides of you
than just the happy side!

:)

Sigh! I hope that you are feeling better now! If it makes you feel any better, even people in the rest of the world wish that for your country!!

I think that it must get better. Enough people feel the way that you do!

Every time I read about your meetings I get a little jealouser (is that a word?) but in a good way because it is making me determined to get over there to play!!

P.S. I'll email you a fat email tonight or tomorrow, I promise!!

(The Indigo Girls always make me feel like that too!!)

sweet pea, even when you're blue you're inspiring - you don't have to be anything other than yourself and we're happy :-) journal of a solitude is a phenomenal book isn't it - May Sarton had quiet blue days too, it';s all part of the creative process (well, that's what i tell myself...)

First lady? I think President. Yes, you must run for President. Sorry your feeling a bit blue. Get a good nights rest.
Hugs to you,
a.

I LOVE the West Wing too!

I have the same dreams ~ an open minded leader.

Let me just put this in the comments for anyone who might be curious: Liz (in person) is just what you might expect from reading her blog--bright, caring, witty, delightful, creative, kind, PRESENT. Thank you again for driving down to be there on Sunday--I'm so very glad to have had the opportunity to meet you in person and to witness the live version of you. :)

I can hardly think about WW ending yet. It's just too sad. Jason and I had to watch Season 1 and Season 2 this past winter just to assure ourselves we at least have the crew on DVD.

Only a couple more weeks. *sigh*
