bloom
I am off to Seattle for my yoga teacher training weekend (I do come home at the end of the day each day). I can't believe we are done in June. People begin to share their projects today, so it will be a day of learning all new aspects of yoga and the meditative life. (I don't share my project until next month. Phew.)
And yes, more on ArtFest soon. Thank you all for your kind comments and for reading that entire long post!
This is a picture of the tulips Jonny brought with him when he came to stay with me at the B&B in Port Townsend last weekend. They are from our yard.
The tulips really know how to BLOOM this year. Incredible.
We have jars of them all around our house now and they are all blooming like this. And every jar has one little wayward tulip (seriously, it is so much fun) trying to get a new view out the window or of the room it is in.
Take a breath. Open up. And bloom.
This is the phrase that keeps running across my mind.
What would happen if we let ourselves bloom like these gorgeous tulips?
What are you afraid of? What is stopping you?

oh, such beautiful tulips...and such sweetness for Johnny to bring them to the B&B.
not loving myself entirely was stopping me from blooming completely...but the last few days i am feeling my pedals stretch up to the sky and open.
love to you...thank you for all of your support this past week. i cherish you. xoxoxo
Bloom. I like that word. There are certain words like that...
I could just say them over and over.
Believe.
Tribe.
Authentic.
Bloom.
I hope you have a wonderful day breathing and blooming.

Ooh, tulips are my absolute favorite. I once spent 2-1/2 weeks in a Left Bank hotel in Paris...all alone (although I made friends while I was there). I had a vase of pink tulips on the white mantle (the fireplace didn't work, but it looked lovely). Ever since, tulips have reminded me of that adventure. I'm trying to bloom my way back to that version of myself...only enhanced this time with what I know NOW. ;)
These tulips and your inspiration from them is so beautiful. I am struck by how completely open they are and how completely glorious. I believe the same will happen when we are that open.
I am definitely longing for some blooms, whether it be my own or the ones sprouting up from the ground. The binds are loosening so the bloom must follow soon. Those white tulips are incandescent, like little moons in a jar.
Thankyou for reminding us - to bloom, to not keep the beauty inside the bud until it´s almost exploding and only fear is holding it back from opening up. What are we afraid of? Maybe that other things can affect us, get to us more easily when we are opened up like that for the world to see and criticise. But that shouldn´t stop us. I´ve come to realise that this is the only way to live, with your magic on the outside for all the world to see!
The self-loathing of my physical body; oh how I'd like to bloom and be free of these feelings. I'm trying but it's damn hard.
Yes, yes, yes! I loved that! "Take a breath. Open up. And bloom." I loved it. I am going to put this on my bulletin board today so I can remember. It's such a gentle image - that blooming. Thank you so much!!!
i think i may use this
as a prompt
for my morning pages..
sweet picture, too
:)
What might happen? Freed to bloom like those tulips? Well, I might be the wayward one, the one that seeks a new view, the one that's willing to let my stem develop a couple of kinks, to even turn towards the ground at times, before turning my face up to a new ray of sunshine, a new way of seeing. I'm going to keep pondering that question, fingering it like a pebble in my pocket. What would happen? What would happen? Thank you
Flowers bloom regardless, to let go and let be...at every moment, to say YES!
I like the angle that you took this picture from...niceeeee...You are also keep a clean house (living area) and that is apparent in a lot of areas that I can SEE...muahahahahaha....oh wait..what was the question???
I"m having so much fun catching up on your posts! I had no idea what ArtFest even was until this week and wow! I'm so glad you took the time to share your experience in detail. And btw, I took my first yoga class 2 weeks ago- well, actually my second one but the first one was years ago and very bizarre in San Francisco where they hung us by our feet upside-down. Apparently it was some type of yoga but I have no idea what. I would love to hear more about your yoga training program.
I love those flowers.
