songs to write on your heart

I have been listening to few songs over and over in the last few months. These songs remind me of what life is all about. Why I am here. Why we are here. It is amazing how you can fill the silence with the music of another and remember this. They invite me to cry as I realize I am not alone in my thoughts, hopes, and dreams. I am not alone.

Here are a few of these songs...

Galileo Indigo Girls
Stars The Weepies
No Net Below Jonatha Brooke
These Photographs Joshua Radin
All That You Have Is Your Soul Tracy Chapman
What Was That John Gorka
Virginia Woolf Indigo Girls
America Simon & Garfunkel
Let Go Frou Frou
And the World Spins Madly On The Weepies

Sing them out loud. Write them on your heart. All the words. Invite them to be part of your soul. And then let yourself begin to dance...yes, you...let yourself dance in your life.

And the world spins madly on - been listening to that one a lot recently too... I love Deb Talan's voice, and the words, well, they're perfect for right now. Sx

I LOVE Galileo by the Indigo Girls! I'll have to check out the Weepies - I know Swirly Girl writes about them often.

Have a great weekend!

i'd like to burn you a CD. music saved my life this past week in Canada. i'll share some songs that were part of that. reading your list, i am confident you'll like them.

Letha is a great resource for upcoming indie music. she's so dialed in. so, if you're in need of some new tres cool tunes, she's also a good one to ask.

First time I heard Virginia Woolf, I was inspired to read her works...they moved me like they moved Emily and I sing her lyrics LOUD! - jules

You know, whenever I feel a bit down and discouraged, like I'm kind of giving up and getting hopeless, I pop on the Indigo Girls, play it loud and sing along. A Hammer and a Nail gets me out of this mood for sure!

I'll check out some of the other tunes!

I could dance with you all day with this music. Kindred spirits, I have said before and now say again.
Love this!

I completely forgot about that Tracy Chapman song!!! That used to be one of my very favorites. That makes me realize that somewhere along the way I have lost my TRacy Chapman tapes! Her first two albums I cherished for the longest time. I think I need to rebuy them when I have some spare $. And the Indigo Girls!!! Aren't they wonderful? Reading this post reminded me I really haven't been listening to music enough lately, though yesterday while I cleaned away I did listen to Louis Armstrong's greatest hits and that made cleaning the house a tiny bit more pleasant!
