taking my own advice (take one)
So this is for all of you who have a hard time saying no.
I did it. Today. I said no.
I can't help you. Today, tomorrow, or the next day. Yes, I do have a job, and I will not have time. Between teaching four yoga classes and editing four chapters (with more to come) and handling the other responsibilities I have, I will not be able to help you.
Thursday? Oh well, Thursday...well, I might be able to help Thursday. Just let me know.
(I am trying...)

Trying is good. :-)
Sounds like you made an excellent start.
One of the best pieces of advice I ever heard was this - You don't have to explain "no". "No" is a complete sentence.
Good for you! Saying no can be a learned skill -- it will get easier.
baby steps... :)
Good for you!! You are beginning. When you truly value your time more than pleasing others, you will be able to say NO with ease! This is something my sweet husband is learning, too.
LOL. I remember a few years ago after talking to my husband about how I have a hard time saying no, I did it and said no to something and then I swear 2 minutes later said yes to something else that I didn't want to do. I would have spent a long time kicking myself if my husband hadn't told me it was a start and next time as a default to say I will think about it, instead of giving an answer right away.
I have a much easier time with this now but I am still working on volunteering to help all the time.
HA! good try!
Way to go! No can be sucn an empowering word. What did you honour by saying no? By saying no, what did you make room for?
I know you can do it again :)
