finding the happy

happiness is...

an unexpected late afternoon walk along the shores of puget sound with my husband. finding sea glass. laughing. hearing a group of girls singing about how they are celebrating abby's birthday. coming across the names of boys that they "love" written in the sand.

watching a movie just for fun, just to laugh, just to rest the brain.

being able to get into my blog after it seemed to be lost for the entire day. glad it is still here!

reading the poems people choose to share and create for Poetry Thursday. this idea is catching on...

facilitating a positive yoga experience for a new student. "this was wonderful." thank you. feel the space you have created inside you with this awareness of your breath. so good.

buying myself these earrings and this bracelet. i have not taken the bracelet off; it is my talisman to remind me that i have the power to do anything. i am my own superhero.

connecting with more bloggers every day. this medium is such a bright spot in my life. (thank you. yes. you. thank you.)

letting this little dancing artist inside me out to play. the ideas are swirling around in my mind, and i am so happy that i am giving myself permission to create.

a long warm bath reading the poetry of Diane Ackerman. followed by my favorite polka dotted flannel pjs. (and even though i wish it was warmer outside, i am kind of glad it is still chilly enough for me to wear them.) a mug of jasmine green tea and a little bowl of ice cream.

what are you happy about right now?

Ooh, what I am happy about is that your blog is back. I missed you yesterday when it was gone.

And what a joy to hear the details of what makes you happy. What a beautiful insight into you. It makes me smile to think of you enjoying each of these things. I'm glad you've found the happy.

Gosh so much, I had an awesome day with my daughters that didn't involve me sitting in front of the computer or tv screen. We went out and just enjoyed the world and each other. I don't do that enough that is for sure!

I am happy that when I pull down a bookmarked blog and it says "access forbidden" in big ugly caps it just means blogger is having trouble!

I am happy to be writing every day and exploring the kid inside who likes to draw.

I am happy it's another weekend with absolutely nothing scheduled ... we'll see what happens! Enjoy!

Happy for reunions, I think. Earlier in the week I inadvertently found a long-lost friend via a blogger whose site I read...last night J. had the chance to reconnect with an old friend after a 5-year absence...last week I saw my best friend from high school (after 2-1/2 years) twice in one week!...and she and I visited my oldest friend (since we were toddlers)--she lives in my town but we just never get together. Yep. Definitely reunions. :)

Glad your blog is working! Some people are still having trouble with mine, but it seems to be gradually showing up for more and more. Sigh.

I love the jewelry you chose and your day sounds like it was lovely.

I'll be posting my monthly bliss list soon, so I won't try to list my "happy's" just yet. :-)

Right NOW I am happy that:

I woke up at 9:30am on a Saturday and that gives me time to play in the daylight!

I don't feel bloated!

There are back-to-back vampire movies on Sci-Fi right NOW!!

I have the day to spend with my little mini silver dapple "circus clown" doxies and I am so excited to do that because they make me smile and laugh DEEPLY!

I just found my cellphone under my mail that I dropped on the floor last night/this morning and I see that the battery is still charged!

Ok I think you can see how happy I am RIGHT NOW! :-) byeeeeee

I'm happy for a day out with my hunny, for your wonderful, sweet words on my blog, the baklava I just ate, and the amazing blogging community I have found - and jasmine tea in jammies! I hope you have an equally happy day tomorrow!! xoxo

I'm happy that I finally conquered (at least for a week or so) my bill basket, and swept away the pine needles that had fallen off our holiday wreath (yikes). I'm also happy that the Girl Scout cookies arrived and I am able to be enjoying a "Tagalong" right now, as I type this comment!

Thank you for reminding me to pause and appreciate all of the things that I have that make me feel blissful.

I'm happy that I'm done with work today. I'm happy that I'm going to make a strong cuppa tea and finally, I'm happy that I had a grooming appointment today. Those waxing dollars are the best $$ I spend on myself each month!

I am happy that I woke to see my husband's beautiful face at 6 a.m. but could turn over since it is Saturday; that I awoke around 10 to the smell of breakfast he was busy making; that after breakfast he gave me a massage to soothe the aching muscles in my back and hip; that after the massage he went into the garden to plant the wonderful plants he picked up yesterday at a couple of nurseries; that later we will climb into the warmth of the hot tub on this chilly night and soak our bodies. I am happy to be living is a paradise here in Puget Sound, and soon our garden will testify to the luscious environment which surrounds us. And, I am grateful for the love which surrounds me every day.
