anticipation {sunday scribblings}

looking up anticipation and finding “expectant waiting” led me to think about some phrases...

water when the soul is parched
warmth when the hands are cold
quiet when the head feels heavy
peace when the heart is hurting
support when the feet are tired
ease when the hips are tight
space when the brain is busy
laughter when the shoulders slump
compassion when the soul is aching
nourishment when the body is empty

these phrases have led me to the idea that our bodies are in constant anticipation or hope for a key to solve bits and pieces of their (of our) experiences. an internal map to help us through all that we are handed at any given moment. our internal compass perhaps. an anticipation of understanding that it will all, eventually, make sense.

How apropos for what I am feeling right now, Liz- thank you. I think it's the human condition, this anticipatory state of our bodies... waiting for the day we will wake up when our bodies and minds won't hurt AS much...

What an interesting take on the SS theme this month. Our poor bodies never get any rest, always anticipating and planning and hoping and doing!

Some very good thoughts and completely different from the direction I took. That's the joy of sharing viewpoints; it widens our perspective. Right now my focus seems to be quite narrow.

It's always good to touch base with you, Liz.

I just linked onto your site from another...zena moon...and I'm glad I did. Thank you for sharing such honest and free thoughts. Being in a state of anticipation is far from the most comfortable of moments, especially when it seems to last a while. I, too, keep hold of an overall anticipation that this will all make sense...that beautiful growth is imminent.

i've been trying to do more lately to connect to my body and you always help me to keep that commitment in the fore front of my mind.
